The primary objective of the proposed ASVO-MWA node is to provide national and international researchers with seamless access to different MWA data products via online services and tools. The node aims to maximise the benefits of the MWA data, enforce a high level of provenance and completeness of meta-data, and protect data access rights. The node is in the final planning stage.
The current development stage is funded under the Astronomy Data and Computing Services 2017 budget. AAL funded a node requirement analysis and design study (conducted by Swinburne) in 2015. The requirements for the ADACS funded development are substantially less than the full original proposal. Hence it is considered as a pilot project which can be expanded upon later. The pilot implementation aims to provide MWA visibility data to the public by December 2017.
